About

at workJohn Bunker grew up in a small town in Northern Michigan and attended Michigan State University. Upon graduation, he packed up his bags and made the journey west to the mountains of Colorado to a career in the resort lodging business.

While stepping through the management ranks, John began to gain an interest in technology and became a specialist in revenue and property management systems. In consulting with hotel properties, he discovered a theme: People used a minimal number of features within the available technology. It became a passion to share with others how to actually use the tool of technology to be more efficient and effective.

After spending ten years working at some of the most beautiful resorts in the country, it was time to shift gears and move away from the corporate environment.  John had worked with underprivileged students in an after school program in college and a snowboarding program in the mountains, and he loved working with kids.  Friends, family, and colleagues all affirmed teaching would be an ideally suited profession, and the choice was made.

The moment John stepped into his first classroom, he saw the need for technology integration.  Since then, it has been his passion to integrate technology into the day to day curriculum.  His experience in classrooms with one, four, and thirty computers gives him the background for almost any classroom technology situation.

This website demonstrates the 10 core Information Learning Technology competencies achieved in his work toward a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Technology Leadership at the University of Colorado – Denver.
